Room was individual and excellent, the place itself was beautifully kept. The location for Takayama was marvellous and fantastic, near main attractions and an awesome Hida Beef restaurant. It was around 4-6 minutes walk from Sukeharu Hidatakayamaten, where you can have dinner.

It had great and fantastic location not far from a nice, quiet area, souvenir shops and Takayama old town and many famous restaurants.

The location here was so peaceful, just a stone's throw away from the old town where all the action is happening. 🏞️ the triple room I stayed in was fantastic – spacious, tidy, and had plenty of space for our belongings even without a wardrobe.

The family house near the beautiful old town was mind-blowing! Impeccable condition, super friendly and helpful host. Double-sized room upgrade was jaw-dropping. I recently stayed at Guesthouse Takayama Hanzansha for a few nights during my visit to Takayama. The house was well kept, and the bed was clean and comfortable. We were given two rooms, one of which was spacious with a wardrobe. The host was friendly and provided us with helpful information on how to enjoy our time in Takayama. The property is conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk from the train station, and is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this guesthouse for groups or couples seeking a break from the city.

Absolutely loved our Christmas stay at this guesthouse! The beautiful home was well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The host greeted us warmly upon arrival and provided us with useful information about the town and main attractions. The futon beds and blankets provided were so comfortable that my partner and I slept like babies. The guesthouse's location was ideal, as it was very close to the main attractions of the town. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and taking in the festive Christmas atmosphere.

That the guesthouse was situated up a steep hill, which made it a bit challenging to climb, especially with heavy luggage. The bathrooms and toilets were located on the ground floor, which meant that guests staying on the first floor had to climb up and down the staircase.

The location of the Hanzansha is perfect, within walking distance of Takayama old town and in a peaceful area near the castle ruins park. the common kitchen is well equipped and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Felt totally relaxed, no reason to complain.

The rooms were spacious and we were able to have neighboring rooms with a connecting door, giving us plenty of space. the accommodations were equipped with ample plug points for charging our electronic devices, and we especially loved having a washing machine to clean our clothes. the fully equipped kitchen allowed us to warm up our food, and there were plenty of eateries just a short stroll away. the host, Shiyu, was incredibly helpful and even helped us book a taxi for our return to the station. it was a peaceful and clean place to stay, providing a true Japanese house experience. Cons: Everything was spot on. 👌.
